West Virginia - Exam Information

WEST VIRGINIA SCHOOL CANDIDATES

We are pleased to offer online exam applications for the West Virginia examinations. To offer this service, you will pay your examination fees using a credit card through and there will be a $10.00 electronic registration fee. You may also choose to submit a paper application and money order by clicking the link "paper application".

Candidates that attended a licensed West Virginia School must obtain an application from their school or use our online exam application.

Out of State, Apprentice & Instructor Candidates

Out of State and Out of Country candidates must contact the West Virginia State Board of Barbers and Cosmetologist to verify they meet all requirements for licensure prior to applying for examination.

West Virginia Rescheduling Paper Application

ATTENTION: The West Virginia "Wax Technician" examination has been updated by NIC and the examination has been re-titled to "Hair Removal Examination".  The updated exam will be effective as of 11/1/2018.
